After designer clothing, designer jewelry, the next big thing seems to be the ‘Designer Baby’. I was taken aback when I read a small piece of news article about the idea of having Designer babies. Then I googled and did this post.
Looks like parents can choose the kind of baby they want based on the color, intellect, traits or any other attribute. Currently this technology is being used during the IVF process to check and correct the quality of the gene in the laboratory before implanting in to the mother’s womb. It is said, this might lead to the idea and reality of having a ‘designer baby’ in the future even in the normal course of pregnancy.
People have always wondered about the creation of god and he is god because he is the creator. And he is god because he created these unimaginably complex life forms. Look what is happening today? Human beings are able create babies according to their preferences. Looks like even the traits and personality can be chosen. Something that only god knew so far.
With this designer babies in place, just can’t can imagine the future where every parent wanting their child to be the best in the world. Imagine, hospitals advertising with their catalogues and auction houses giving away best genes for best prices.
